Salary Range: $24,997-$39,996
The Village is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker I worker responsible for performing skilled and unskilled work in operating a variety of equipment in the maintenance and repair work associated with various public works projects. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs maintenance work involving various public works projects comprised of street and roadside construction.
Operates a variety of heavy, medium and light equipment, machinery and tools used in projects and activities.
Performs tasks associated with building repair and maintenance projects.
Transport, loads, hauls, and unloads various equipment and materials used in projects or at work sites.
Performs general/preventive maintenance tasks necessary to keep vehicles, equipment and tools in operable condition.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Preferred candidate must have:
High School diploma or equivalency
One (1) years public Works experience
Vocational/technical training in heavy equipment operation and maintenance, or
Any equivalent combination of certification and experience. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Sound knowledge of equipment, vehicles, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance and repair activities.
Advanced skill in operation of all required tools, vehicles and equipment.
Ability to perform arithmetic computations to maintain accurate records
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public.
