AMERICAN ISSUES INITIATIVE

New York, NY (2016-Present)

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Developed and launched this non-fiction content company to address, via multi-platform content, some of the critical issues of our time. I assembled the team and partners for our initial project, Rigged: The Voter Suppression Playbook, a theatrical documentary examining the issues of voter suppression and voter fraud. The theatrical film premiered in June 2019. It is narrated by Emmy & Tony award- winning actor, Jeffrey Wright. It’s been accepted into ten film festivals and won best feature documentary at North Carolina’s Indigo Film Festival. It is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and Peacock. Rigged has had over 300 theatrical screenings. For more, go to: www.riggedthefilm.com. In addition to the film, we also had an extensive social media outreach effort and launched our own YouTube Channel, the Voting Rights Voices Channel. A TikTok video we produced had over 10 million views. We also received a $100,000 grant from the JPB Foundation to support our outreach efforts. We are now in production on a feature documentary capturing the trials and tribulations of BIPOC medical students at the Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. It has received over $1 million in grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Sloan Foundation and Blavatnik Family Foundation. In addition, we are also producing a 30/30 podcast for ESPN on the life and tragic death of hockey legend, Hobey Baker. 2
