Phlebotomy Technician trained in collecting blood by means of dermal puncture and venipuncture using lancets, evacuated tube system, and butterfly infused system with proven successful venipuncture sticks (Capillary, straight needle and butterfly needle)

Additional certifications include HIPAA for Covered Entities, Bloodborne Pathogens for Healthcare Workers Overview, Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and Sharps Safety, and Certificate of Completion for Special Injections (intramuscular /subcutaneous)

Ability to administer emergency first aid to patients showing signs of nausea, shortness of breath, dizziness, or headaches

Knowledgeable in preparing slides for peripheral blood smears

Able to monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions to maintain accurate, detailed medical records.

Perform various point of care tests such as glucose level check, glucose tolerance tests, bleeding timed tests, urine sampling, and administering injections (subcutaneous / intradermal)

Ability to take vital signs on patients to assess their stability and record patients’ medical condition to provider

Basic Life Skills and CPR Certified, HIPAA Certified, and COVID-19 Safety and Precautions trained.
