Professional Skills

My career began in the hospital as a medical-surgical float nurse, advancing to ICU/post- partem/nursery float nurse. My next advancement was to ambulatory and in-patient surgery that expanded my abilities through working in the OR which challenged my abilities working in general surgery, plastic and orthopedic surgery, endoscopy, pre-op, and PACU, further expanding my knowledge and abilities in a pain center and with wound care. While working in the travel setting, the challenges became more complex while working in various areas to include medical research, telemetry, telenursing, ambulatory nursing, home health, and pediatric/juvenile home care. Through my experiences, I have advanced to being a driven, self-motivated charge nurse who challenges and teaches other team members to exceed patients' needs and prioritize patient safety, teamwork, and open communication. My career has challenged me in the areas of ambulatory, acute geriatric psych, memory care, short-term and long-term care, and rehabilitation. Because of this experience, my capabilities have become paramount. Throughout the years of my growth and development and my leadership abilities progressed, and I accepted administrative positions which provided extensive experience in case review and shift staffing, and this provided new challenges for me as I continue to grow.
