Summary

Certified since 2007. Majority of that time spent in nursing homes and rehab hospitals preforming basic health care needs, ADLS for patients, and taking/recording patient vitals. Last two years I spent working on a Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit at Inova Heart and Vascular Institute of Inova Fairfax Medical Campus as a Clinical Technician/Unit Secretary. As the Unit Secretary I would keep the unit clean and organized. I would greet family members and direct them to patient rooms. I would admit and transfer patients throughout the hospital. I would answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate places. I would also keep the unit supplies well stocked and readily available Incase of emergencies. As a Clinical Technician I would preform basic health care needs as well as inserting/removing IVs, drawing blood for lab work, inserting/removing Foley catheters and performing finger sticks for glucose readings. I am BLS certified. I have also worked along side physician assistants and nurse practitioners while they have pulled out pacer wires and chest tubes after surgery.
