• Develops standardized work. Provides training and feedback on performance to the Set-Up Operations, Machine Operators and Temporary associates.
• Acts as the “first-responders” to take action and problem solve both technical and non-technical issues. Must be able to identify root cause, work with available resources and support staff when necessary to implement countermeasures as quickly as possible.
• Receives oral and written instructors from managers, area leaders, team leaders and engineers regarding quality and process issues. Works cooperatively with the team leader to define and execute necessary actions to ensure achievement of plant wide, departmental, and manufacturing performance metrics.
• Understands and can perform all essential job functions of the Set-Up Operator and will perform the duties of any other production associate in the event of absenteeism or job openings as needed.
• Directs set-up operators, machine operators, and temporary associates, allocating resources to balance workload and priorities as necessary. Confirms production process is running in accordance with documented standards, specifications, and cycle times. Adjusts manning as needed to assure production line is running smoothly.
• Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to assure production lines are equipped with proper supplies; that all gages meet appropriate specifications. Involves bending, stopping, crouching and reaching to lift materials and products weighing up to 70lbs.
• Uses written and verbal communication through writing and coaching of Standard Work and assigning detailed work to production associates. Visually observes job performance to ensure production 2
associates are performing work according to standards and coach them if its not followed corrected and efficiently.
• Uses manual dexterity and visual observation to operate office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, telephones and fax machines.
• Participate, promote and work in a team environment. This will include collecting and analyzing data, conducting meetings, and working collaboratively in cross functional teams.
• Performs special projects as assigned by the Team Leader or Area Leader.
