Shoei K. Stephen Huang, M.D., FHRS, FACC, FAHA

Dr. Huang is Professor Emeritus of Medicine at Texas A&M University Health Sciences Center in Temple, Texas. He pioneered radiofrequency catheter ablation technique in 1985 and has been the Editor of six editions of a textbook “Catheter Ablation of Cardiac Arrhythmias” published in 1995, 2000, 2006, 2011, 2015, and 2019. The next edition of the book is currently on the way.

He was Professor with tenure and EP Director at the institutions including University of Massachusetts (UMASS), Texas Tech University (TTU) Health Sciences Center (also as Chief of Cardiology) and Texas A&M University Health Sciences Center. He was intermittently invited to visit/work in Taiwan at different institutions including National Taiwan University (NTU) College of Medicine and Hospital, China Medical University and Hospital, Tzu Chi Medical University and Hospital and Changhua Christian Hospital.

Dr. Huang received multiple research grants and authored or co-authored more than 250 articles in the peer-reviewed medical journals in the field of cardiac electrophysiology and cardiology. He received numerus awards including best medical science research award, best medical achievement award, best teacher’s awards, and best high school alumni award. He has served in many professional and scientific committees and as an abstract reviewer as well as manuscript reviewer for many professional societies and medical journals. His major interests are clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac implantable electronic devices, and catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias.
