Volunteer Experience

BuildOn, 500 W Monroe, Fl 13- Teen volunteer

(September 2016 - August 2018)

With a total of 143 service hours, I have gone across the Chicagoland area to support those in need within the community. From homeless shelters, to dancing with elders in retirement homes, to making sandwiches for those on the streets, to making Christmas cookies for veterans, BuildOn has helped me gain an increasing interest in helping our community strive. I also obtained the opportunity to go to Nicaragua and assist in the building of schools and houses in their rural communities. I am now creating my own nonprofit organization.

Black Lives Matter Protest of Chicago, Downtown, Chicago- Program Coordinator

(July 2020)

In hopes of combating racial oppression within the United States and around the world, and with the amazing help of two fresh leaders of Chicago and the Chicagoland area, I was a part of coordinating the largest peaceful protest Chicago has seen. Advocating for BLM and the LGBTQ community has been a major part of why I wanted to attend Howard University and continue my advocacy for the promotion of tolerance and respect.
