Software packages used on PWB: Siemens (Mentor Graphics) Expedition, DxDesigner, Cadence Allegro.
High density boards, 350 microns pitch BGAs, over 2000 pins count for Cell phones, laptops, computers.
Performed simulations using PDN Checker, Power SI, Hyperlinx. Maximum layer count is 12 layers.
Senior PCB Designer
February 2012 to February October 2015
EXTRON ELECTRONICS – 1230 S. Lewis St., Anaheim, CA. 92805. Phone: 714-***-****)
DxDesigner for schematic capture and Cadence Allegro for PCB Layout.
Design Video/Audio Electronic Devices with maximum of 8 layers, without micro vias.
Senior PCB Designer
April 2001 to February 2012
CURTISS-WRIGHT CONTROLS INC, 10201 Wateridge Circle, suite 300, CA. 92121. Phone: 858-***-****
Software packages used on PWB: Mentor Graphics Expedition, P-Cad 2001 and Specctra Router.
Cam-350 for viewing Gerber files, Valor for viewing ODB++ files.
Schematic capture: DX Designer
Design VME, PMC, VIDEO, POWER SUPPLY boards.
VME Cards were designed with 20 layers, having one, two or four microprocessors, impedance controlled, split planes, using microvias (12mills OD x 5mills ID) technology.
BGA's used were over 1000 pins (1.27 mm, 1 mm, 0.80 mm pitch) with minimum trace thickness of 3.5 mills. Documentation: Assemblies, Fabrication drawings, Gerber or ODB++ files, IDF files for imports to mechanical design packages like ProE and SolidWorks.
Cad Design Engineer
October 1999 to March 2001
TALLA-COM INDUSTRIES – 1720 W. Paul Dirac Drive, Tallahassee, FL. 32310, Phone: 850-***-****
Design printed circuits boards, medium to high density, using Accel EDA (Pcad-2000), up to 10 layers for different electronic devices like power amplifiers, radios, filters, computers.
Among critical issues was the use of ground planes on each layer to guard the traces, use short traces on transformers, inductors.
Senior PCB Designer
December 1997 to October 1999 RESPIRONICS INC – Marietta, Georgia
Design medium to high density printed circuit boards using Orcad schematic Capture, P-Cad and Orcad Pcb, for medical devices.
The main projects involved the use of CPU's, modems, embedded power supply etc.
Some critical issues were the isolation of analog section from digital section, and guarding of clock lines, ground plane separation, matching trace length, applying DFM and EMC.
Documentation: Created assembly drawings using Autocad and parts lists using Excel.
Senior PCB Designer
August 1997 to December 1997
NORDSON INC – Duluth, GA.
Design of medium complexity printed circuit boards, with 6 layers using P-cad.
Senior PCB Designer
April 1996 to August 1997
AVIONIC DISPLAY CORP – NORCROSS, GA.
Design of complex printed circuit boards, with a maximum of 12 layers using Accel (TangoPro), Specctra Router (Cooper and Chan).
Major projects involved CPU’s.
Among critical issues, were transmission line termination, guarding of clock lines, decoupling, reference ground and power planes.
Designed prototype boards using Specctra Autorouter, and creating the "DO files".
Senior PCB Designer
August 1995 to March 1996 LXE INC – NORCROSS, GA.
Design complex printed circuit boards with 14 layers using Pcad and SPECCTRA (Cooper and Chan) Autorouter.
The projects involved the use of CPU's and embedded power supply for wireless scanners used in warehouses or other applications.
Critical design: use of blind vias with high density for CPU-486 mother boards, embedded power supply with reference ground planes.
Senior Designer
July 1989 to January 1995
SONATECH INC – 879 Ward Dr. SANTA BARBARA, CA. 93111, Phone: 805-***-****
