Lockheed Martin Space System Company, Waterton, Colorado Staff RF Engineering
Supported (Military Special Program) MSP program: front-end receiver design (1 to 20 GHz) & development/hardware delivery; provided end to end RF simulation and RF budget allocation/ channel interfaces effect/potential spurious impacts. Interfaced with other engineering discipline to achieve the product delivery to the program. Provided PDR & CDR packages and supported engineering unit built.
Supported commercial satellite LOB; end-to-end simulation tool development under IR&D effort. Supported new business technical proposal activities such as JCSAT & Inmarsat program: Identified and category classification of subcontractors products for potential new program deployment in advance. Massive excavations of Lockheed Martin heritage RF products in the area of active components. Performed new business proposal preparation.
2011 (1st August)-2014 (4th August)
Blue Spectrum Corporation, Santa Clara Ave, San Jose, CA Principal RF System Engineering (Phase-Array Antenna)/CTO Designed and architected MIMO RF beam forming communication system (PA MCMs); RF equipment requirement flown down, to system level. Study Link budget analysis for various critical path (G/T, Gain/ Loss, Frequency Stability vs. phase noise, Modulation scheme vs. PA power p1dB, Compensation for ISI approach, and etc.) The system composed of Radio Card @ millimeter wave frequency, Beam Forming architecture including hardware partition, Local Oscillator, Frequency planning, and filter planning, Spurious suppression filters, Complex Weights Modules that control the multiple beams steering capability and PA supporting the beams delivery.
2008 (7th Jan)-2011 (19th July)
Space System Loral, Palo Alto, California & Ross Streamer Consultant Payload System Core Engineering
Prepared and analyzed payload link budget flow down. Updated System Integrated Budget. Prepared and delivered Volume 1 & 2 of the SOOH for satellite payload. Other activities; Resolved Receiver and Transmitter Issues, Panel level Test Requirement Review, High power impact analysis on various components, Analyzed interferences on payload due to various sources, supported PDR & CDR activity, and payload panel integration effort. Example of Payload Assignments were; EchoStar-18, Tele-Sat, and Amazona-3. 2006-2007 3/4
Orbital Science Corp. Dulles, Virginia
Payload System Engineering/Manager
Assigned AMC5R program, supported PDR and CDR effort such as budget analysis and payload block design. Reviewed and supported RF component engineers in updating and negotiate with the suppliers on technical material; for example the receiver specification requirement as well as other major equipment used in the payload. Interfaced with the customer weekly
provided report to the upper managers regarding the status of the payload progress; mostly in area involved the highest risk and recommended mitigation plan for schedule recovery and cost reduction by introduction of innovative RF solution. Updating payload financial profile vs technical achievement/progress. .
1996-2005
ITC Sunnyvale, California
Senior System Engineer CTO
Chief RF Repeater System Engineer/CTO
Designed and manufactured Fiber-Optic-Base-Station-Expander (FOBEX) system for CDMA Base-Station; 2G, 2.5G, and 3G outdoor unit.
Architected the system, achieved goal of seamlessly integrate with the existing CDMA base station without any interruption. Led a team of 13 members in various disciplines to achieve the objective given, within budget and met the schedule. Most of the RF subsystem content were designed and manufactured in-house; Power Amplifiers, transmitters, receivers, tuning- synthesizer, detectors, filters and master clock. The Radio-system met IS-95 standard and was produced in volume. The project played a major role in (CDMA) telecom infrastructure produced in volume. The project played a major role in (CDMA) telecom infrastructure development in the country of Korea. The technology was transferred to SKT under the STIC supervision, (STIC is a Venture Investment entity). 1990-1995
