I reversed Mazak lathe G code back into Mastercam programs by exporting dxf geometry out of EditNC. The programs were for a Mazak Multiplex 630 duplex lathe with auto gantry loading of parts, and for Mazak Integrex with a Mazatrol Fusion 640 MT control.

CNC Programmer, mold repairman

Did reverse engineering using a Faro Arm and Inventor software to convert molds into solids models. Repaired plastic injection molds. Used Mastercam to program Mazak CNC lathes, Prototrak CNC mills, Haas CNC mills, operated manual lathes and mills. I did steel and aluminum TIG welding.

I worked closely with radar design engineers to build radars and integrated bridges for ships – both military and commercial. I designed and built fixtures and wrote CNC programs (using Mastercam and Catia) to build the submarine navigational ” Ring Laser Gyroscope” and weapons integration systems. Also, I designed and built fixtures and wrote CNC programs to build submarine periscopes. I assisted engineers with experimental projects. I made recommendations for CAD software and computers. I wrote production process sheets.

I programmed large vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers using Anvil CAD/CAM software. I programmed both the largest CNC plasma cutter and the largest brake press in North America. I was put in charge of performing quality checks on CNC programs and CAD drawings.

I built parts for Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, space-based laser weaponry, the space shuttle, and the manned maneuvering unit for astronauts. I programmed, using Mastercam and Catia, and operated large CNC lathes. I operated all manual lathes and mills. I served as the leader of the quality circles and had several recommendations to management implemented. I made recommendations for new machinery. I served as an auxiliary fireman.

I did all the machining on a “world’s sports car” which we built from the ground up. The car was put on the racing circuit from the Daytona 24-hour race to Sebring.
