Noregon Systems

Responsible for creating and directing a company-wide program of quality and process improvement.

•Prepped Noregon to attain and maintain a CMMI for development level 3 appraisal. In the first year, on- time project delivery increased by 30%

•Lead an agile transformation initiative to move Noregon’s web-based products from a waterfall methodology to an agile development environment in Azure DevOps, automating development, test, and release

•Created Noregon’s first training program which involved developing training material and conducting process training across all departments. This included implementing an LMS system.

•Created an audit program where all company processes were periodically audited looking to ensure compliance and to identify areas where processes could be improved

•Created a set of data-driven quality metrics for monthly reporting to c-level management

•Created and participated in a peer review process ensure quality throughout the life cycle from requirements to code to test. This process lowered our defect slippage by 15%

Director Software Quality Assurance

Bally Technologies

Department head of systems quality assurance for enterprise management systems overseeing two departments consisting of 30 employees.

•Built and supported server farm utilizing VMWare vCloud which supported development and QA groups in all five US locations. With initial roll out, decommissioned 90% of hard iron servers, reducing equipment footprint by 75%, reducing power consumption by 60% and eliminating need for additional server purchases for 3 years. Repurposed owned equipment, negotiating with VMWare so initial cost of farm setup was only $700k opposed to an estimated 1.2 million initial cost.

•Part of sales team that won Bally Technologies the largest contract in gaming history, with OLG and BCLC, the two largest lottery organizations in Canada. Estimated value at anywhere from 250 million to 500 million.

•Created training programs for employee development in the QA organization. Classes taught by product experts in our group and were attended by field techs, developers, and customer support employees.

•Headed team that implemented process improvements across the whole SDLC, bringing our organization from a CMMI level 1 to CMMI level 3, allowing the company to meet project schedule estimates 95% of the time and with improved quality measured by improved customer satisfaction surveys and reduced costs in regulatory submissions.

•Created an automation team of 10 engineers. We utilized QTP in a hybrid keyword/data driven framework with the primary focus of automating 100K plus manual test cases. This allowed the manual team to focus on functional and exploratory testing improving the overall product quality.
