Ensuring the care, custody, and control of inmates on the mental health therapeutic unit. Working in closed custody as an officer with dangerous and least compliant inmates including: gang related, mentally ill, and a population of the most violent inmates in the prison. Touring assigned areas periodically to ensure safety of staff and inmates. Generally performing security duties involving: searches, escorting to medical and visits. Other duties include: cell search, ensuring there is no contraband on the assigned unit, providing safety for staff to be able to work with these inmates on the assigned unit. Finally, monitoring and regulating inmate and staff movement, maintain records, cell assignments, count numbers, and other assistance to all available units.
