SCA Engineering Technician II (Cable Fabrication). Fabricate cables, wire harnesses, and labeling, using industry standard cable fabrication tools, soldering equipment, etc. and perform simple testing to verify correct assembly. Assemble components and sub-assemblies following wire prints, production drawings, schematics, sketches, and verbal instruction. Run interconnecting cabling amid equipment following drawing, schematic diagrams, or sketches. Install network and communication systems cabling into racks, cabinets, and portable cases. May perform intermediate assembly tasks such as cleaning, wiring, stamping, and installation of parts and assemblies then label as required. May assemble components, circuitry, and build prototype or production equipment and systems, utilizing schematics, craft-alts, technical manuals, drawings, etc. The routing and dressing of cables (cable management) is included. May conduct risk assessment analysis for the work location, identify hazards, recommend controls, and oversee safety measures. Other duties as required. All work is performed according to industry best practice and Mil Standards in accordance with Quality Assurance standards.
On loan to Production Shop kitting area, I learned to make kits for installation of equipment in the field. I also assembled DC Switching Units and radio adapters.
