GENERAL PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to unload and shake all linen entering plant and prepare for sanitary cleaning process. Incumbent will follow all washer systems to wash and dry soil linen according to customers’ specification and Florida Linen Services practices. This position is responsible for the operation of the station dumper, proper use of tunnels, presses, shuttles, conveyors, and dryers as required to successfully process customers’ production needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
List the typical duties and responsibilities of the job in order of importance.
Sorts/Shakes and prepares laundry for processing and distributes laundry as directed, performing any combination of duties such as; opens bundles of soiled laundry, places bundles onto conveyor belt or drops down chute for distribution to marking and classification sections.
Fastens identification pins or clips onto laundry to facilitate subsequent assembly of customers' orders.
Sorts net bags containing clean wash instructions according to customers' identification tags.
Operates power switch to load and unload linen dumping transport machine, when necessary.
Operates power hoist to load and unload washing machines and extractors, when necessary.
Ability to adhere to all safety practices. Maintains a clean and safe work area at all times.
Ability to stand more than 8 hours per day and remain swift for extended period of time.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must speak and understand Basic English language. Must possess good verbal communication skills.
Must be able to word a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and Holidays.
Must be able to work standing for extended periods of time up to 8 hours a day.
Must be able to understand and differentiate various types of linen.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and complete work flow as instructed by management.
Must be very organized with the ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
Must be able to move loaded carts weighing up to 400 pounds; lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; detect problems with the operation of laundry equipment and report to supervisory immediately.
Entry level position. High School Diploma or GED equivalency, preferred.
Previous experience in the laundry industry or environment, preferred.
