As a Field Training Officer, I was in charge of the safety and training of the new trainees that arriving at the Station. I made sure they had their safety equipment and how to use it. I also instructed them on how to perform their daily duties in a safely manner in addition to the Area of Responsibility orientation.

04/2008 – 11/2009 Campo Station Collateral Duty Safety Officer

As the Station’s Safety Officer, I was responsible for verifying and pointing safety hazards and deficiencies present in all the working areas of the Station. I inspected the mechanic’s garage and verified that the mechanics were using the required safety equipment. I inspected the building to verify that the working areas had no safety hazards for the employees and informed management if any corrections were needed. I was in charge of the Station’s annual budget for the procurement of safety equipment. I attended monthly meetings with the safety committee and scheduled their visits to the Station.

2005 – 2007 Campo Station – Field Intelligence Unit

Conducted surveillance on a daily basis in plain clothes, made contacts throughout the community including businesses, gathered intelligence and developed leads through the use of confidential informants leading to the arrest of numerous narcotic and human smugglers, and vehicle and narcotic seizures.

Prepared numerous reports using form G-392 and/or Field Intelligence Reports (FIR) that contained actionable intelligence information regarding Mexican Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTO) and Mexican Alien Smuggling Organizations (ASO) as well as completion of Form G-166 related to alien smuggling cases 8 USC 1324.

Analyzed and evaluated information obtained from different sources (i.e. confidential informants and involved participants) and compared it with information already archived. Collaborated and shared this information with other agencies to include DEA, ICE and High Intensity Drug Trafficking Alliance (HIDTA).

Queried principals and suspects on various agency intelligence-related indexes, databases, and statistical systems (TECS, Orion NetLeads, ADNET) for the creation of target files.

Served as group leader in special operations regarding Title 21 traffic and also in the creation of DTO's target files. Assisted in the planning of several operations like operation "EYEBALL" with the Boulevard Station agents and in operation "DAY SHIELD" with ICE, FBI and BP.
