Position: Medicine Assistant

Responsibilities: All Veterinary Service Center (VSC) as well as

non VSC mouse husbandry stall will be responsible for reading

‘and complying with the provision here in and shall be trained by a

‘veterinarian or area supervisor prior to initiation. In a

life-threatening emergency, however, appropriate deviations may

bbe taken to protect personnel and animals. A CSC veterinarian is

responsible for reviewing this protocol every three years. The

Attending Veterinarian is responsible for approval.

Procedure:

* Check room temperature and record temperature on animal

room check sheet. Notify supervisor immediately if temperature

is less than 68F or greater than 79F or ifthe hi-low fluctuation is

greater than 5 degrees. Reset hilow thermometer

‘Check for sick or dead animals. If found fill out report form.
