Professional Experience
Doma, Amarillo, TX Escrow Assistant 2021-2022
I was the escrow assistant to the managing escrow officer and 2 other escrow officers for Doma. Opening and funding through SoftPro for mortgage contracts were the priorities for this position. I was able to use my verbal and written communication skills through communicating with realtors, lenders, customers and investors by email, phone, and in person. My position was deleted due to budget cutbacks.
AIG/VALIC, Amarillo, TX CCS Communication Team Member 11 2009 – 09/2021
Our team processed group contributions for annuities and mutual funds. The production process lends itself to much research. I was able to use my verbal and written communication skills through talking to group representatives, financial advisors, and other AIG employees over the phone and through e-mail. Much tact and diplomacy were required when speaking with these individuals. I was a mentor to new employees on the Annuities and Mutual Fund processes. I was presented with a new opportunity in my career and left the company.
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Administrative Assistant 01/1994 – 07/2009
01/1994 to 07/2003 – I was the Administrative Assistant and primary support person for the Occupational Therapy (OT) faculty and students. Duties included scheduling of meetings and classes for faculty and students, making all the travel arrangements for the OT faculty members, preparing PowerPoint presentations for the OT faculty, taking minutes for meetings, ordering and keeping stock of inventory for the department, and other daily office duties. I was named Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2001. My position was deleted due to the OT program being moved from the Amarillo Campus.
08/2003 to 05/2006 – I was the Sr. Business Assistant for the Business Office. Duties included processing incoming and outgoing payments managing the inventory and ordering all the supplies for the Business Office, back-up cashier, and various other daily office duties. This position required confidential discretion because of funds received on patient accounts. I was given the opportunity able to work in a position that allowed me to use my administrative skills for my next position for the University.
05/2006 to 07/2009 – I was the Administrative Assistant and primary support person to the Director of Quality Improvement/Risk Management (QI/RM) and the Vice President of QI/RM. All legal aspects for TTUHSC, Amarillo were handled in our office. Time management and organizational skills were important elements for this position. The ability to manage multiple complex issues simultaneously was needed. I assisted in starting an employee health program for TTUHSC, School of Medicine in Amarillo. All health and immunization records were kept and maintained on an employee health database. Self-motivation, initiative, drive and communication skills were a big part of this position. A high level of discretion was necessary as legal and employee health records were kept in the department. HIPAA regulations were followed carefully. Other duties included scheduling meetings, taking minutes for the meetings, and making travel arrangements for the faculty and staff, creating Excel reports, spreadsheets, and presentations, and creating correspondence for faculty and staff. Working with other departments to resolve issues was a major responsibility of this position. My position was deleted due to budget cutbacks.
