KITCHEN INNOVATIONS INC.: Was co-owner of a rapidly growing $10 million sales manufacturing company that marketed stainless steel cookware to the retail consumer market. The business was absorbed by an acquirer in an unfriendly takeover, and my husband and I were forced out of the firm our family built. SLIDELL MEMORIAL HOSPITAL: During the years with Kitchen Innovations, I drove each weekend from Biloxi, MS to Slidell, LA., and worked two 16-hour shifts as med/surge nurse in the AIDS unit. ABBOTT/NORTHWESTERN HOSPITAL: Began my nursing career here. Worked on the Medical/Surgical and Step-Down CCU units.
