Utilizing the DMV terminal to obtain required information for law enforcement during traffic stops or as needed for any other incident should it be required. Successful completion of the agency's NCIC and CJIS class with an exam. Complete two months of Communications training to proficiently perform as primary Dispatcher assigned to the any of the following: Nye County EMS/Fire radio, Northern or Southern County Law radio, and/or designated 911 phone lines. Work accordingly with surrounding agencies as necessary. Be knowledgeable of Nye County's geography, maps, landmarks and resources. Field calls appropriately from the multi-line administration phone. Direct callers to any needed resources. Maintain AHA Heart Saver CPR/First Aid certification. Perform multiple tasks simultaneously; keeping a clear, calm and confident demeanor while handling all situations. Monitor all radio traffic and respond accordingly; Whenever necessary use department codes and abbreviations consistently, as well as being familiar with other agency's codes/abbreviations. Maintaining a standard level of cleanliness and organization within the communications center with general cleaning. Enter all phone conversations with pertinent information into the RIMS “phone shift log”. Record daily weather conditions in a written log and on the weather website.
