My support opened up the possibility for the former sole J2EE engineer to leave the company. I guided new Java developers in efforts in my design. I worked on integration with DevExtreme, BlueBeam and MPXJ. Feb 2016 – Jul 2017: upWork.com, online freelance, Contractor/Consultant I became the sole contributor and LAMP and LEMP system administer for a cakePHP website. I added payment processing and many UI enhancements. But mostly, I took a clunky composite of contractor work and cleaned it up for performance. The websocket server usage was re-written. The SQL calls were cleaned up and javascript intervals and session data was minimized. A nginx server was created for static content and log-file noise was eliminated. More importantly, I researched and designed the most scalable and globally supported video streaming solution using WebRTC. This enabled new order type expansion with exponentially reduced development time. It also made ongoing maintenance simpler with streamlined test paths. I introduced and used WebLoad for performance testing and successfully caught issues before they reached the customer.
