I am writing to apply for an Engineer position. I am a graduate student and am currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Detroit, where I am due to complete my Ph.D. by September 2023. I have experience working with several Automotive companies defining Designs of Experiments (DOE’s) and collaborating with their engineering teams. I enjoy solving complex problems which has trained me for a highly skilled industrial environment. I would be interested in opportunities within your company and feel that I could be an asset.
My master’s and undergraduate programs were primarily focused on Aerodynamics. I used Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to optimize and prove out the performance of different designs of wind turbine blades and their airflow characteristics. I am currently working on a dissertation and collaborative project between UDM and Ford Motor Company. For my doctoral dissertation, I developed new concepts to study and evaluate the unique properties of hybrid nanofluids where an open-cell metal foam was being used to boost heat transfer rates in thermal energy storage systems for cooling and heating. I believe these technical skills in academics and industries would contribute to meaningful work.
On a personal note, my native language is Persian, but I am fluent in English. I enjoy traveling, hiking, and watching movies with friends. I enjoy being outside and spending time with friends. I currently work with the Resident Life program at the University. In this capacity I have the opportunity to interface with many students, resident advisers, and other University staff. I am also trained as a first responder with the University’s department of public safety.
