All general bartending and serving protocol was required of me: checking ID and Vax cards, mixing and serving drinks with a sense of urgency, sidework and bar maintenance, and cultivating a loyal following. In addition to these duties, I was responsible for creating all seasonal cocktail menus, training numerous new hires, reporting on my coworkers’ performance, and was the PM assistant manager. I was also in charge of all closing duties: handling large amounts of cash, doing all closeout paperwork, reviewing my coworkers close outs to ensure that everything is correct and accounted for, using and troubleshooting the POS system, finishing my shifts with no other staff in the building, and closing up the bar solo.

General bartending duties as described above apply to all experience. I was responsible for extremely fast paced bartending each and every Saturday night completely solo, including making drinks for the music venue, the restaurant, and the patio (as a service bartender) while maintaining top notch customer service for the patrons seated at the bar. I also acted as a server during busy brunch and dinner shifts.. My speed and accuracy, as well as the ability to keep the bar patrons from ever having to wait, emerged as my most needed strengths on this particular job.
08/12 - 03/18 Bartender, Milano’s Bar 51 East Houston St, NY 10012
Duties included both day and nighttime bartending – honing skills I needed for fast paced volume work as well as those needed for building and maintaining a loyal daytime clientele. I was responsible for doing the total bar inventory every week. I also trained numerous new hires, ran the bars social media, created new cocktails and specials, and took charge of promoting my own shifts.

Acted as general manager in a busy music venue and bikini bar in the financial district. Responsible for all daily operations of the bar, including but not limited to hiring and firing employees, training and overseeing those employees sales and numbers, booking musical acts and promoting events, ordering inventory and paying vendors, and dealing with the DOH, FDNY, and NYPD.
Education:
Graduated from the University at Buffalo with a BFA in musical theater and a BS in psychology, with highest honors in both.
Special Skills and Pertinent information: – Holds NYC food handler’s certification. Certified in CPR and general emergency medical procedures. Member of MENSA. Experienced with various POS systems, as well as the old school “banger” registers. Talented at crafting new, cost effective, and exciting cocktails. Excellent at de-escalation and stopping problems before they start. Top knowledge of beers, wines, and spirits with a genuine interest in learning. I make sure everyone is satisfied, welcomed, comfortable, and ready for more!
