In that role I was involved with both the clinic and hospital evaluation of cardiac disease and treatment of such. I specifically was responsible for making hospital rounds independently as well as in the clinic. I interpreted ECG, Echo, Nuclear stress test, CTA of the coronaries, read GXT, interrogated PPM, ICD, reviewed Coronary angiograms, and was responsible for interpretation of and adjusting meds based on the routine labs done in a cardiology clinic including lipid profiles, adjusting Coumadin, and monitoring other specific labs when deemed necessary based on drugs I initiated such as Amiodarone.

Ochsner Cardiology in the acute care setting, New Orleans I was responsible for evaluating and treating patients in the hospital setting performing Cardiology consultations and admissions for the Ochsner cardiologist. I was involved in the fellowship program they ran for aspiring Cardiologist. I performed all duties required as an NP in the acute care setting including vent management, titration of vasoactive drugs, detecting and treating arrhythmias, interrogating implantable cardiac devices, cardio version; whether that be electrical or chemical, and of course Hemodynamic monitoring. I also autonomously ran a diagnostic stress test center under a rotational basis in the ninth ward where we performed both exercise and nuclear stress test.
