**My first job was at Roanoke Rapids Hospital in NC. I worked my way up in high school and after graduation through receptionist/switchboard operator, ER clerk, Admissions, Insurance Claims, Bookkeeper, Accounts Payable/Receivable and Payroll. I commuted to Hardbargers Business College at night in Raleigh. I left the hospital to marry and moved with my Airman husband to Plattsburgh, NY where he served and I worked at Northern Insuring Agency as a Policy Rater (“old school”; by charts in manuals; no computers then.)
