The majority of my career has been serving with the United States Marine Corps since 1998. During my service, I gained valuable experience in the operations, setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of field radio stations, microwave stations, and digital (multi-channel) wideband transmission equipment. I am skilled in the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of radio equipment. I possess the knowledge and ability to interpret electrical meter readings, wiring, diagrams, distribution panels, and accessory equipment. I also know the principles of electricity, including generation, conversion, transformation, and utilization.

Makes assignments, reviews post orders, and assures that all procedures, including emergency procedures, are in place and staff is trained in proper implementation. Reviews disciplinary matters concerning both staff and detainees. Reviews staff effectiveness and conducts frequent physical inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. It gives primary guidance on situational problems, making referrals for more complex issues. Prepares records and reports as assigned by management. Maintains daily logs as required. Ensures prompt and appropriate assistance to inmates or detainees in the event of injury, illness, or trauma. Promotes facility cleanliness and reports need for maintenance or repairs. Serves as a member of special teams to respond to emergencies as required. Completes training courses as required by facility training standards. Performs correctional duties for any shift as defined by management. Performs other duties as assigned.

Radio chiefs are qualified to supervise fixed and field radio stations, microwave stations, and visual signaling stations. The skills of a radio chief are vital in the planning and execution of successful amphibious deployments, which depend upon highly mobile and reliable communications. Radio chiefs assist in selecting the frequencies and radio sites to be used for each mission and determining the mix of radio equipment to be employed.
