This resume is for informational purposes only. I have been the owner of RL Builders Custom Luxury Homes since I took it over in 2007

EXPERIENCE

01/01/1981-01/01/2007

ELECTRICIAN/ GENERAL LABOR, RL BUILDERS

I have been working for a family based general construction company since I’ve been 16 legally and before that off the books. I have done everything from general labor, to roofing, carpentry, tile work, insulation, and I am a licensed electrician since 1995. I would run all the day to day operations for the company.

01/02/2007 – PRESENT

OWNER, RL BUILDERS, CUSTOM LUXURY HOMES

I took over the company in 2007 so that my father could retire and take care of my mother. We have survived the market crash by reinventing ourselves as a complete project management and general construction company. I have done million dollar renovations, tear down demolitions, and have built new homes. We average about 2 new homes a year because I do not like to take more than I can service personally. I am on the job everyday making sure my clients get all the value they are entitled too. I hold a current real estate license and a current supervising electrical license EDUCATION

ST FRANCIS IN JOLIET, JOLIET JR. COLLEGE

I was an exceptional student in an Organizational Management program offered by St Francis. I held a 4.0 GPA and was nominated for Phi Beta Kappa. My curriculum included both business classes and psychology. I had a 2yr associates from JJC with a 3.87 GPA but did not finish my bachelors because I was working in a family business and my father thought I was taking to much time away from my daily duties. I can provide my transcript if asked and had about 100 credit hours completed. I never stop learning.

SKILLS

I don’t think you will find another candidate

with the hands on experience running a large

scale general construction firm.

I not only have field experience but run

scheduling flawlessly, supply logistics, and

purchasing. We are a full service firm.

CONSTRUCTION

EXPERIENCE

1985-1995 RL Builders

o General labor

o Apprentice electrician

o Worked with Carpentry crew

o Worked with Roofer and Insulation crews

1995-2007

o General Partner RL Builders

o Passed Supervising Electrical test for suburban license o Took over field responsibilities for all project management o RL Builders averaged 6 million in sales every year with a peak of 10 million in 2003 o Most construction was residential with our average square footage of 8,000 and our largest was 15,500 sq.ft.

o I would do all blue print bids and put together the specifications and contract for the homes which was sold by my father and me.

2007- present

o I took over sole responsibility for RL Builders and changed the name to RL Builders; Custom Luxury Homes

o We did not incur any loss due to the 2008 crash but did have a slowdown for the first 4 years where we survived on commercial buildouts, home renovations, and additions to existing structures.

o We built (2) homes in 2012 in Homer Glen when no one else was doing anything. Each home was $500,000

o As the market recovered we became busier. Because we had a good reputation with our suppliers and subs most have been tenured with us an average of 15 years with some as long as 30 yrs. I did not lose suppliers or subs except for some due to retirement. o In 2014 We built a 2800sq.ft. home in Orland for $400,000 o Between 2014- present we have built 7 upscale homes between 2800 and 4500 square feet for about 5 million in sales. We have also done (2) large scale renovations (1) was for 750,000 and the other was an addition with a renovation for about 500,000 o During this time we have also designed and finished at least 10 kitchen remodels. You can see the portfolio of homes for RL Builders at RLBuildsCustom.com, this will link to our HOUZZ page which has more of our recent work.

I am very selective on who I will work for. I don’t market except my web site and HOUZZ page which I don’t update regularly and I don’t chase accounts. I keep a high standard so my pricing seems a bit higher than some but I provide such detail in my specification sheets that my educated cliental realize I’ve included everything so there are no major surprises later that can cost them more money.
