Sir or Madame,
I am retired from the State of Georgia and SFS. I have worked most of my life and, I have concluded, retirement is boring. I wish to continue teaching because it gives me a sense of purpose, and allows me to put my talents, abilities, and experience to good use, and I have a wealth of experience.
I have experience and certifications in the following areas:
4th grade through grade 12
College level English (levels 1,2, and 3) (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced)
American and British curriculum
Teaching (History, Business Studies, Economics, ESL, & English)
TESOL certification
IELTS certification
Conversational English
Speaking and Writing English Effectively
English Vocabulary and Pronunciation
Introduction to Business and Travel English Language Skills
Social English Language Skills
Working with Students with Special Educational Needs
Training Instructor
Smarter Learning – Study Skills
Effective Communication Skills for Teachers
Storytelling
Planning and Development
Briefly, my philosophy concerning education is, “a person may obtain degrees and certificates, however, your education does not end when you graduate. Education never ends.” Employers will expect better than average performance from their employees. I try to impress upon my students, in order to succeed, “learn to learn” and “exceed expectations”.
With kind regards,
Richard Steven Smith
