I am writing this letter to express my interest in the position of System Admin within your organization. As a highly skilled security operations operator and Marine Corps Veteran, I was excited to find that my qualifications and personal strengths align with your organizational needs and mission.

I am currently employed by the Eugene Water and Electric Board (EWEB) as the security operation center operator and serve to provide a safe and secure work environment for our most important assets: our employees. I currently serve as the main point of contact for contractors, customer, and security needs, while managing multiple projects and databases.

Prior to joining the security team at EWEB, I was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps with 8 years collaborative teamwork and technical support skills. I have combat deployments to Afghanistan with decorated medals. I have held multiple job titles while in the Marine Corps as a motor vehicle operator, gunner of vehicle convoys, operations lead, and supervisor, resulting in the physical and mental wellbeing of the Marines under my charge.

In addition to my experience and personal qualities, I am actively pursuing a degree in computer networking and cybersecurity and am 7 classes away to become proficient in AWS, SQL, application support, and computer networking.
