SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Created a VB.NET application used by other members of the helpdesk that streamlined utilities and procedures. Result: Actions that once took several minutes to accomplish are now being done in seconds.

Contracted to create Processes & Procedures for Banking institutions to be Y2K certified by the Federal Reserve. Result: all were in compliance 4 months ahead of due date.

Created Virtual Private Network so those outside of corporate network could connect & work offsite. Results: increased accessibility, allowed tele commuting, saved money by consolidating data access, standardized programs.

Initiated/Implemented Citrx farms. Results: Largest farm is still operational and serving over 6 servers and 150 users.

Managed two data centers for Air Force. Added capacity for addition mainframes, improved up time rates.

Generated centralized document at each company to map out network topology. Results; lists all servers & their purposes, included Disaster Recovery plan, enabled Network Administrator to quickly & efficiently trace locations of problems.

Turned around Tactical Air Warfare Center Communication Data Center scheduled to lose certification due to unauthorized downtime & errors in addressing both classified & unclassified message traffic. Results; negotiated 3 month waiver, site achieved better than 99.9% “up rate” for 2 years in a row, outgoing & incoming traffic were both up with less than 1% error rates.

Changed out 6000 Check Scanners & Printers across Texas with single units. Results: checks handled only once, printer speed increased, required less space, new equipment was less labor intensive & easier to load, over 9 months scheduled & enhanced safety for installers, saved time.

Initiated/Implemented plan to utilize existing unused cable creating classified network for an entire Command. Results: Project completed for $6.5M instead of original estimate of $13M.

Solved mini-computer repair issue requiring 6-hour dismantling process plus sending off for refurbishing. Results: time involved reduced to hours from days, savings of multiple hundreds of dollars per computer, process adopted Air Force wide and then DOD wide.

Established MicroComputer Support Group to support small-medium businesses with network solutions. Results: viable enterprise for 8 years, sold to my accountant, realized a profit.

Windows Event Archive. Merge and analyze event logs from 40 systems into a central repository and maintain them for 1 year.
