Began career on dock in Cincinnati, OH. Transferred to Raleigh, NC and progressed through various job positions, OS&D clerk, supervisor, and dispatcher. Entered training program and assigned as the operations manager Philadelphia, PA. Transferred to San Diego, CA to open first terminal in CA. Transferred to Los Angeles, CA as the assistant terminal manager. Promoted to Oakland CA as terminal manager, Transferred to Fontana, CA to open new breakbulk. Promoted to district general manager. Resigned from Overnite and accepted position at GI Trucking as Director of Terminal Operations. Resigned in June 2000, returning to Overnite.

Returned to Overnite as Terminal manager of the Fontana, CA breakbulk, Promoted to Regional Director of Operations, SWW district. Area consisted of Arizona, New Mexico and South Texas. Retired with 33 pension years, 31 operational years.
