e) Wellbore stability

f) Drilling fluids optimization

g) Design complicated P & A projects

h) Rigs selections

i) Float and cementing floated casing

j) Split conductors on production platforms (did two jobs for Chevron – UK & four jobs for Apache Corp UK)

*Designed and drilled the first successful ERD Well on the Alba Platform in the North Sea for Chevron – UK (review page 5 of this C.V)

**Successfully introduced to the Chevron Captain platform for the first time the technique of cementing a floated production casing through an inner cement string (review page 2 of this C.V)

Note: A detailed separate report listing the actual optimization projects, which I did for some of the North – Sea operators will be provided on request

NAM/Shell accomplishments:

1.Introduce, plan, and supervise barefoot testing in the NAM/Shell drilling operation in the Netherlands, in the well Q-16. The barefoot testing was performed and saved running and cementing, and perforating a liner string. Money saved was 6 million guilders.

2.The first TLD process was introduced/ applied on Shell operation in 1997 was on my rig offshore on the well K7 - 12 well, where 12 million guilders were saved due to the conceptual design change which I made on the well, it was a big change for the standard Shell design. I managed to drill with one BHA, one mud weight, one bit, the formations Zechstein, Upper Rotliegend into the Carboniferous formation. This was a special design where I managed to plan the well directionally so that it would penetrate the Zechstein salts through the floating blocks all the way into the carboniferous formations. This had reflected the accuracy on Bits, BHA, Mud weight, Mud type and down hole tools selections. Again Shell had organised an international conference where I had demonstrated the savings and the TLD which was done due to changing the normal well design. The well was a big success where I had got 100% ranking from the NAM/Shell business unit.

Drilling Optimization and Wellbore – Stability studies

I did optimization studies for Apache and Chevron UK, which resulted in saving on time and money. With the optimization studies I used to prepare technical studies, for example, a well bore stability study for Chevron UK and my recommendations had been utilized for the last 15 years on the Alba Northern platform. I also did one for Chevron – NL for the Helm - Platform and resulted on cancelling drilling/sidetracking a re-entered well, where I predicted that the expected drilling ECD’s would exceed the reservoir fracture pressure.
