I advocate for my sister, who is a person with autism. I am a liaison between her, her social workers, doctors, as well as others. I study the her closely, which enables me to interpret her needs. I do paperwork documenting daily activities and tracking my sister's goals. Showing empathy, compassion, dignity and respect to her is done with the most of ease. I bathe, dress, prepare meals and feed my sister. Also, I administer daily and nightly medications. I do housework and socialize at home with her as well as going on outings together. Quite often I take my sister to doctor's appointments. I set up appointments and speak on her behalf both on phone and person.
