Program focus: A comprehensive training program that supplements classroom training with practical hands-on manufacturing laboratory experience. Developed with input from local aerospace manufacturers and update regularly to incorporate technological advances in close tolerance manufacturing environments. Classroom studies include: Safety, lean manufacturing, shop theory, Blueprint Reading, inspection, Mathematics, Quality Control, material and processes, CNC machine tools (i.e., mills and lathes) and also utilize inspection tools to verify that fabricated parts meet blueprint requirements. CNC focus allows students to use mills and lathes to “ prove out” CNC programs developed in the classroom.
