Spiritual guidance is given based on what the spirit deems is important according to the bigger picture, since spirit knows all. Sometimes the things we want to know, and what the spirit shares, are not the same because we don't know what the spirit knows. Sometimes the spirit will not answer the question if it is in our best interest not to know. This should not only be respected, but appreciated.
