Closure and Reclamations

Coordinate with consultants to conduct relevant studies related to closure and reclamation plans.

Coordinate the collation of all necessary information for Life of Mine closure and reclamation liability costs, as well as the EPA Reclamation Bonding process.

Liaise with the Mine Engineering team to build an end-to-end Reclamation Plan that accommodates for concurrent reclamation and meets the agreed closure criteria.

Develop and fully implement closure and concurrent reclamation programs, according to the EPA Security Agreement and reclamation objectives.

Waste Management.

Supervise the operations of AngloGold Ashanti waste management facilities to ensure compliance to regulations and AngloGold Ashanti environmental requirements.

Conduct risk assessment of potential impacts associated with new and existing hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.

Coordinate the development of action plans to address and minimize significant environmental risks identified during risk assessment process.

Lead the design and implementation of all waste stream management programs associated with the Obuasi process and support activities.

Update the Management Plan on a periodic basis, or when any significant change in mining, process has been incorporated.

Environmental Reporting

Maintain the statistics on the volumes and quantities of wastes generated in the Data Management System for environmental reporting purposes.

Prepare environmental reports relating to closure, concurrent reclamation and waste management.

Participate in report reviews prior to submission to regulators (i.e. weekly report, monthly report, EPA reports).

Audits and Inspections

Conduct environmental inspections and audits.

Prepare reports and close out corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
