Current Role

2022- Current Facilities and Operations: Brickfield Group

● Currently managing the facilities and operations for the Brickfield Group which has R400 million worth of assets. The portfolio consists of 3 commercial Buildings in Cape Town and 4 in Sandton. Focus currently is resolving HVAC, latent defects, preventive maintenance implementation and Utilities across the portofolio. We have managed to resolve the BMS and HVAC at the new Brickfield Canvas building, and utility consumption has dropped by 40%. Discrepancies with metering at one of the call centre buildings have been resolved with the City of Cape Town, we are due a credit of R425k. Health and Safety is currently being implemented across the portofolio. Team upskill is in progress with a strong focus on development.

Career History

2021-2022 Facilities Manager: The President Hotel

Managed all facilities and related functions for the 4 Star President Hotel. The facilities consisted of 349 rooms with a centralized HVAC plant. We managed to reduce energy costs by R300 000 per year and water consumption by 50%. Health and Safety was part of the role. A strong focus was on team development and upskilling.

2019-2021 Technical Manager and Owner: Rentek Solar Western Cape

● Ensuring the supply and installation of solar geysers, photovoltaic systems, turbine ventilators and heat pumps, for residential and small commercial businesses; consulting on energy efficiency and sustainability plans; retrofitting existing hot-water systems to solar water heating; developing a sustainability market in the Western Cape; and approved as an Installer and Supplier for the City of Cape Town. 2016-2019 Head of Maintenance and Engineering: Virgin Active South Africa
