Magic Love (born Richard Paul Sostre; April 10, 1968), is an American marketing promotion manager, record producer, song writer, consultant and choreographer. Born in Pawtucket Rhode Island and raised in the South Bronx New York, (Hunts Point 183rd Street) and later moving to East Harlem. He started his career as a break dancer and b-boy taught under the likes of Kid Freeze who held the world record head spin & Mr Twist of the Dynamic Rockers out of Coney Island. This experience brought him on tours across the world opening for mega artist like LL Cool J, Rakim, Sugar Hill Gang, Aretha Franklin and other major artist in the 80’s. Sostre has also played a role in discovering and cultivating artist such as Ryan Leslie and is responsible for initiating his first production deal with Aftermath & Interscope records in the early 2000’s.
Sostre was credited in albums such as Ryan Leslie’s “Just Right” European release in 2005 under Next Selection Records. He was also credited in R&B sensations Latif’s (Corey Williams) first solo album under the Motown Label titled “Love In The First.” Through his managerial skills and ear for talent expertise he crossed the paths and worked with the likes of Sean “Puffy” Combs, Tommy Matola, Jimmy Iovine and the likes. Between the years of 2002-2009 he worked as a manager and deal consultant for Rhode Island native producers “Trak Addix,” and helped with artist promotion for artist like Noel Gourdin who charted Billboard with his hit single “The River” in 2008 under Epic Records. His close Friend and member of Trak Addix T.O discovered Noel Goudin and worked closely with Sostre. This relationship would have him network and cross paths with Kaygee of Devine Mill Music, and Naughty By Nature.
Sostre’s street team experience, club promotions, concerts and digital distribution deal works, had him working with labels like Tommy Boy Records, Next Selection, Universal Music Group, Def Jam And Interscope between the years 1992-2011. Throughout his career he has accumulated over 200 record plaques for his association, participation and work with many talents in the music industry.
Sostre has also currently gone back to working with youth, something he did a lot in the early 90’s. Between 1990-1992 he worked as an advocate for Government Contracts USA/DARE Kids helping kids in the community. He has been recognized by the state of Rhode Island for his work in crime prevention amongst the youth. The University Of Rhode Island Alton Jones Campus awarded him for his work in this field as well. SKILLS
