EXPERIENCE
07/18 to present Retired from the State of Washington.
11/15 - 07/18 DOC/Cedar Creek Corrections Center, Littlerock, WA – Office Assistant Senior. I am responsible
for screening Jpay, outgoing and incoming emails. I approve or deny them per safety and
security guidelines set by Jpay and DOC Policy 450.100 Mail for Offenders and releasing
reviewed emails at the end of each work shift. I am backup support for the mailroom; I scan
incoming and outgoing Offender mail for unauthorized communication, intelligence information,
and/or contraband which requires a thorough knowledge of DOC Policy. I am responsible for
Archive Retention – I ensure archive room and database are complete and up to date at all times.
In the absence of the Secretary Supervisor, I directly support the Superintendent with mid-level
clerical duties, answering phones and forwarding incoming calls to appropriate staff.
01/11 – 03/15 DOC/Out of State Unit, Waterbury, VT. I had 130 offenders on my caseload who are
housed in Kentucky. I was responsible to keep my headcount up to date and record
checks on all offenders. This includes, but not limited to updating the MPL code, to verify if the offender
is a listed or non-listed offender, and current custody level is accurate. Make certain that the
offenders
minimum, maximum and projected release dates are correct. I am responsible for Parole Board
reports and attending the Parole Board if necessary, case staffing reports, RSN, all program
requirements and sex offender registry notification. I work closely with Victim Services to ensure
the safety of the victim and community. Due to the fact the offenders are housed out of state we
receive numerous requests from the families and friends regarding their welfare. There is
currently four (4) of us that travel out of state, which requires a person to travel to Kentucky every
six (6) weeks.
07/08 – 01/11 Central Vermont Council on Aging – Case Manager. I represented the Seniors and Disabled. Our
mission is to help seniors/disabled to stay in their homes and support their independence, self choice, and security for all. I ensure they are receiving the benefits of various programs the
state has to offer. I update all their yearly forms to include Medicare Part D prescription drug
programs, fuel assistance, 3squaresvt, and Medicaid.
03/08 - 06/04 DOC/Washington Corrections Center, Shelton, WA - Classification Counselor 3
Responsible for the initial classification of offenders that arrives to the Washington Corrections
Center. After the central file material research, including OBTS, DISCS, and SCOMIS. I
completed the Initial Custody Designation score, and built transfer orders within the appropriate
custody range. I conducted the intake process with the offender(s), designed a current criminal
history summary, and updated all significant OBTS screens. If applicable, I conducted a LSI-R
and RMI. Sent out a End of Sentence Review (ESR) or a Community Release Referral (CRR).

Managed a unique caseload of offenders on Intensive Management Status. Assist in Facility Risk
Management Teams to discuss the offenders 30- or 180-day review. Worked closely with the
facilities Risk Management Specialist (RMS) to transition high risk offenders back into the
community. Consulted with our unit’s Psychologist for continued mental health wellness
of the offenders. Supervised one (1) Office Assistant Senior and one (1) Correctional Counselor
2. Assumed duties of the Correctional Unit Supervisor in his/her absence.

03/03 - 10/01 DOC/McNeil Island Corrections Center, Steilacoom, WA - Correctional Unit Supervisor
Management and supervision of fourteen living unit staff, which included one Correctional
Counselor 3, two Correctional Counselor 2, one Office Assistant Senior, one Unit Sergeant and
nine Correctional Officers; to include 256 offenders and the operation of my living unit in an adult
male correctional facility. Ensured the safety of the public, staff, and offenders through proper
interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures. Training staff and offenders;
answering grievances involving staff and/or offender; performed investigations into staff
misconduct, which could include an Employee Conduct Reports; prepared appropriate responses
for the Superintendent’s signature. This position was responsible for
decisions regarding classification of offenders to both promote and demote custody for transfer to
a more or less secure facility. Most importantly, the implementation of the Offender Accountability
Act and meeting the goals set forth by our Department. I ensured that the offender’s release
plans were up to date; conducted Facility Risk Management Meetings and worked closely with
our facilities Risk Management Specialist.

Managed a special caseload of Mentally Ill Offenders housed in the facilities Treatment and
Evaluation Center (TEC) Unit. Work closely with mental health staff regarding the transition of the
offender, to include, triage, 6002 project, and Regional Service Network (RSN) packets. Made
recommendations in accordance with offenders’ needs, assuring the safety of the public as well
as, the offender. MRT Facilitator and conducted groups twice weekly.

Managed a 60 caseload of adult male offenders in a minimum-security institution. Prepared
written reports and made recommendations regarding offender treatment, training and programs.

Scheduled all Disciplinary Hearings, escorted offenders to the Hearings Office and notified the

Ethic Camp) returnees from MICC and our three (3) relief Hearings Lieutenants. Updated the
computer, adding all infractions, with the narratives, added and removed infraction holds.
Prepared infraction packets for the Superintendent response to major infraction appeals. I
prepared minor appeals for the Hearings Lieutenant’s signature. Answered questions, phones
calls from counselor’s regarding information and clarified policy and procedure issues. Updated
the contraband logbook and disposed of all contraband in accordance with the departments
polices and procedures.

appropriate units. Typed minor infraction appeals from rough draft for the Hearings Lieutenant.

ongoing and I was responsible for the clearance of all construction workers, to include the

basis.
