Schreiber Foods Inc., PA – July, 2019 to Dec, 2019
As a Maintenance Technician, I was responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of machinery used in the food plant.
Specifically, the machines I worked on the most were the cream cheese fillers, case packers and conveyor systems.
Because of the large amount of equipment, we often used books and other documentation to help research problems.
Because this company was in the food processing industry, all work, including preventative maintenance completed on the machines, was documented in the computer system.
Schindler Elevator, Hanover, PA – Feb, 2019 to June, 2019
I was responsible for assembly of the elevator components which are visible to customers, such as doors, entrances, jambs and headers.
Built custom packaging for shipping of completed entrance assemblies.
Used various pneumatic tools such as rivet guns, “riv-nut” thread-insert guns, staplers and nail guns.
Accessed bar-codes from databases so they could be added to the assembled components.
Worked on multiple shifts and optional over-time.
Manitowoc Crane Group, Green Castle, PA – Sept, 2017 to May, 2018
I was responsible for helping to test and calibrate cranes before they were sent to the customer.
The main job duties included: cabling and un-cabling hoists, setting and securing cranes to their test pads, and crane rigging, including multi-load-block pulley systems.
Installed inserts, jibs and stingers using a fork-lift, built large weights, and measured distances to determine the lengths for calibration purposes.
Rotated through other departments to learn other dimensions of the job – such as crane boom assembly, main crane assembly.
Moved large assemblies with the fork lift to support production. - some of these were 32 feet long, not very balanced, and the terrain was rough and icy.
I was also flexible in working on the day and night shifts and some 56-hour work weeks.
GVM Inc., East Berlin, PA – March, 2016 to March, 2017
As a mechanical assembler, I was responsible for major sub-assemblies on large spray coupes.
In this position, I built many large sub-assemblies, primarily chain-cases, front axles, and suspension components.
Prepared many pieces like radiators, front hood supports, hydraulic manifold assemblies, flow meter assemblies, etc.
The smaller assemblies normally fit together according to design parameters, but the large assemblies required custom fitting of many components.
I have a fair amount of experience with measurement tools to achieve accurate tolerances, grinding and polishing.
In many cases, it was necessary to fabricate tools to facilitate assembly and disassembly.
I worked on new production machines as well as prepared parts for warranty work on older machines.
