Nurse Practitioner Board Certified. Internal Medicine: Round on patients and did discharge planning and education. Completed follow ups and history and physicals for the 12 physicians daily. Efficiently increased bed flow activity by competing discharges before 11am. I was the NP in the observation unit. I now complete inpatient admissions to Health Central Hospital. medical management consults, and critical care downgrades. My duties include screen admissions for criteria and complete all necessary assessments for admission and discharge under admitting physician.

Central Florida Inpatient Medicine Practicum Rotation: Based on doctor recommendation rounded on patients expected to be ready for discharge home after a hospital stay. Reviewed home and new medications and assured they were safe and effective for the patient. Worked with the consultants and specialists for discharge plan of care and when follow up would be needed. Worked with physical therapy. case management., and other ancillary departments to develop discharge plan of care. Educated patients on medications. disease process. disease management. and follow up recommendations. Cardiology Practicum Rotation: Treated patients in the office and hospital for cardiac issues and follow up appointments for chronic processes. Wrote prescriptions and ordered labs and radiology tests in association with the cardiac presentation and history of cardiac illness.

Pediatric Rotation: At a community health center for 120 hours. Evaluated pediatric patients from newborn to 18 years of age. Completed multiple school physicals and education about vaccination. Evaluated infants. toddlers. and school age children for appropriate growth and developmental stages, Acute care visits for multiple e complaints and diagnosis.

Women’s Health Rotation: At a community health center for 60 hours. Completed multiple well woman visits and acute visits for varying infections and STls. Completed history and physicals and presented to the nurse practitioner proposed plan of care based on history and objective findings. Education about oral contraception and safe sex practices. Primary Care and Geriatric Rotation: At a primary care office for 310 clinical hours over the course of 2 semesters. Completed history and physicals on patients and developed plan of care based on presentation and exam. Wrote prescriptions. laboratory orders. and radiology orders appropriately for the adult and geriatric population.
