Population and Services type

Perform psychiatric evaluation and assessment services for both adults 18 through 89 and children ages 4 through 17 with severe and chronic mental illnesses. Diagnosed clients using ICD-10 codes, ICD-9, and the V-tracks as needed and medication management according to presenting symptoms.

Treat children and adults with acute, chronic, and severe mental illness; Intellectual developmental disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and Opioid Used Disorder.

Services are provided by face to face, as well as via telepsychiatry.

Prescriptive Authority to Prescribe Medications

Utilized prescriptive authority to prescribe all antidepressants, neuroleptics, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers to treat all levels of mental illness including Opioid Use Dependency clients with Buprenorphine-MAT.

Use of detox medicine: Librium, Ativan, Neurontin, Clonidine to assist clients manage symptoms from substance withdrawal

Monitored lab work: toxicology testing, methadone maintenance, use of Clinical Opiate withdrawal Scale (COWS), and Clinical Institute withdrawal Assessment for alcohol (CIWA) to monitor level of withdrawal symptoms.

Assessment and Screening Tools Utilize

Utilize AIMs to trace EPS symptoms and MMSE to establish mental status.

Utilize tools such as PHQ-9, Hamilton Anxiety and Beck depression, NICHQ Vanderbilt ADHD, Audit, SASSI, SUDS assessment tools to screen and assess severity of symptoms and monitor treatment outcome.

Other Treatment Services Provided to Clients

Maintain therapeutic alliance with clients and their families to enhance family support and positive treatment outcome.

Collaborative consultation with board certified psychiatrist and other expert advisors on Critical cases as needed to ensure highest quality of services are provided.

Hold association membership to gain other expert opinions on evidence-based treatment modalities.

Formulate alliance with clients in developing treatment plans and setting achievable goals.

Reviewed goals with clients to evaluate progress and medications effectiveness.

Provide psychoeducation to encourage medication compliance and relapse-prevention.

Provided individual and group therapy, using CBT, and eclectic therapy to build coping skills, gain insight and manage medication side effects.

Worked with a team of experienced clinicians including NPs, Psychiatrists, LCSW, Psychologist and RNs to assessed and evaluate patients with chronic mental illness and chemical dependency disorders.

Participated in case conferences with multidisciplinary team to discussed difficult cases.

Linked clients with community resources to aid in transition into society.

EDUCATION

Hold board certification in family psychiatry including children ages 4 to 17 and adults ages 18-89.

Hold Board certified LMHCT, NCC (Up for Renewal; LCAS (Scheduled for examination).

Hold board certification in Telepsychiatry, have experience in providing service in telepsychiatry from 2015 to present.

Hold certification in SAMSHA MAT program and provide Suboxone services to Opioid Use Disorder patients. This service is not currently available for contract.
