Drafted a back-haul program as a cost-reduction effort within the transportation department. Set up the MC number (DOT required) and cultivated potential customers who need freight brought back to the Milwaukee area.

Responsible for the routing of loads to our customers’ daily shipments on the eastern seaboard including procurement of LTL carriers for order deliveries to customers in FL, TX, AZ and CA.

Created a network of third-party carriers to supplement the company fleet during holiday and peak summer volume requirements. Maintained contact with carriers to insure compliance of SQF guidelines

Management of the safety department for ITA and Kee Trans Inc. Conducted annual audits of Roundy’s five different divisions. Trained and guided the safety coordinators and transportation managers to maintain company and DOT standard in each facility. Direct responsibility for the ITA fleet including training, discipline and monitoring of driver logging program.

Coordinated the logistical movements of special shipments to individual stores items included time-sensitive products requiring critical coordination during peak holidays throughout the year.
