Personal statement

I studied health information management in the Lagos University teaching hospital in Lagos Nigeria it was a big deal,as it was a completely new development for me. The subjects taken which includes anatomy, medical terminology, hospital statistics and some management subjects made it interesting and the fact that you work with other medical professionals to help deliver quality healthcare service. Working in out-patient clinics enabled me to interact with patients which has helped me to understand the empathy that comes with caring for people who need help as they come with different health issues and disability needs. I enjoy being able to listen to their needs and help make their experience in the hospital a smooth one.

I enjoy being able to offer comfort to my clients, to bring a smile to their faces, listen to their concerns and to reassure them. My love for the profession is accompanied by real determination to be able to provide direct care to patients like doctors, nurses and health assistants. I am a hard-working and well organised individual, reliable, punctual and meticulous in matters of detail and possess good communication skills while keeping in mind work ethics. I am also open to more training on the job where necessary to ensure optimum and quality healthcare service delivery and build my career as a healthcare giver. To further my interest in working with and around people and caring for people i completed a healthcare assistant course and has volunteered in an healthcare facility as a Healthcare Assistant. This has helped me to able to gain valuable knowledge on how to care for patients of any category of need and care. While this was very challenging, I found it extremely satisfying and enjoyable experience.

With my experience in the health sector, and the experience gained throughout my studies, i am fit for the position of a Healthcare Assistant and will like to be considered for the position. Work Experience
