Lead engineer and designer: acoustic design for Apple Computer’s ME186LL/A In-Ear Headphone, sold for over 10 years and still the best OEM headphone product offered by a cell phone maker.

Developing engineer in the development, sampling, and manufacturing ramp of the revolutionary WBFK and TWFK Wideband technology transducers which became the standard for use in high-end and professional in-ear headphones and in-ear monitors. WBFK drivers also sparked a revolution in hearing aids with invention of open-fit, RIC (receiver-in-canal) aids.

Worked with sales engineers and customer corporate engineering groups to develop and sample new transducer designs to meet highly specialized corporate customer requirements. Performed process development, test routine design, failure mode analysis, quality and reliability testing, data analysis, and competitor product evaluation tasks. Supervised technical groups working on specialized design projects, maintaining targeted completion dates and managing the design and production of specialized components, including both US and China-based engineers.

Transducer Design Engineer

Transducer Designer for, at the time, the largest professional audio company in the world. Sole loudspeaker design engineer for the company. Designed a wide range of sound reinforcement and musical instrument loudspeaker drivers as well as complete loudspeaker systems including enclosure and crossover. More than tripled Black Widow loudspeaker power handling from 700 watts program to 2,400 watts.

Did lab testing, R&D, product development. Wrote product specifications, numerous user manuals, and extensively assisted the technical support group. Performed extensive manufacturing support engineer duties for the manufacturing plant in Alabama and the production lines in Mississippi. Researched and solved difficult manufacturing problems, developed new manufacturing processes, and improved test / QC processes for the production lines.
