Child Welfare Specialist II, Family Centered Services 2022 Duties/Responsibilities: I assessed families referred to Family Centered Services and referred to community service partners: as appropriate. Using regular face-to-face meetings, I was key in involving family members in their own treatment planning; consulting monthly with service providers o progress/challenges in treatment. When necessary, I provided placements for children whose needs could be met at home; and continued to work with the family to return children to their own home when safe. I continued monitoring for an appropriate time to close the case without court intervention, if possible. When this could not be accomplished, I returned the case to investigative services to place in permanency or adoptions.

Child Welfare Specialist II, Permanency Planning 2018 - 2022 Duties/Responsibilities: I assessed child’s/children’s needs and strengths in conjunction with community service partners, family and family members, and service providers, to assure the child’s medical, educational, and physical needs could be met. If return to the home was not possible, I arranged a permanent plan for the child. Resource Specialist II, Foster Care-Placement Unit 2017 - 2018 Duties/Responsibilities: I served families and children throughout the OKC metro area in child protection and placement. Key tasks included completing Kinship assessments/approvals, obtaining initial approval for emergency placements, enrolling families in training, opening resources, such as: referrals for home studies, applying for stipend payments, scheduling fingerprinting, and completing contracts with families. When appropriate, I developed resource families for trial adoption, providing support to families, conducting monthly retention actions, quarterly in-home visits, and annual reassessments.
