36 bed ICU with post-operative neurological patients along with critically sick medical patients.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this ICU has become overwhelmed with treating patients in respiratory failure due to the coronavirus. Patients extended past the ICU to med/surg units where ICU nurses were floated in order to continue to providing ICU care. These patients required bedside intubations, meticulous management of ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, sedation and paralytic medications, vasoactive medications, proning, and basic ICU standards of care.
