As Shipping Manager I oversaw a team of seven loaders/unloaders. This included setting up work assignments for the day, coaching up the team members on expectations for day to day tasks, checking on team members mindsets, scheduling of work hours, safety, training, discipline, etc.
I set up the loads for the day, working with production staff, customer service reps and the dedicated fleet dispatch. In setting up the daily assignments, I scheduled the truck drivers for delivery, set dock times at the customers place of business, verified the correctness of loaded trailers and ran BOL’s / manifest for the deliveries.
I assigned team members to off load incoming shipments and received the loads in, making sure they got to the right department.

I oversaw a team of three loaders and one conveyor line operator.
I was responsible for setting up loads and billing out loads. Working with a yard hostler to bring in trailers that were needed. Having my loaders load live drivers as they arrived in addition to yard loads. I also had to order railcars as needed and set up / bill out rail loads.
In addition, I also was responsible to set up maintenance of equipment, both process and PIT. Lead safety discussions with my team, monitor and report inventory levels to the shipping supervisor so that we could devise a plan to lower inventory in the warehouse, ensure that production was aware of what needed to be produced to keep up with customer due dates, etc.

As a Relief Shipping Supervisor, 09/19 - 06/21.
I had to ensure that all four teams in the shipping department were on task to deliver product when due. Work with Customer Service Reps on selling overrun product and off grade product, Supervise twenty team members, work with other department Supervisors to ensure safety was at the forefront of all business conducted, write SOP’s and job training manuals, ensure all company policies were followed, attend production and plant leadership meetings, etc.
