Duties include: Offering spiritual support to hospice patients, families, and staff. Completion of spiritual and psychosocial assessment for all patients as required by JCAHO and HIPPA standards. Offering bereavement support for families following death for a minimum of one year, or as needed. Facilitation of bereavement support group, and initiation of a support group for children and teens whose needs vary from adult needs. This group is in conjunction with Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, Hollywood Florida. Working closely with social worker, nursing staff, physicians, and support staff in order to provide support for inner-denominational and multi-cultural population. Past member of the South Florida Ethics Board and participant in numerous ethic reviews.

Staff Chaplain for Baptist Health System, Miami Florida (five hospitals in Miami area)
Duties include filling spiritual needs of patients, families and hospital staff. Also responsible for initiating inner-denominational spiritual services, and facilitating various groups such as bereavement, visiting the sick, and addiction treatment; responsible for training local clergy and lay people on procedure, hospital policy, and documentation for visiting hospital patients. These procedures were consistent with JCAHO and HIPPA standards.
1997-98: Chaplain Resident at Stanford University Hospital, Palo Alto CA
Duties included: 2 psyche units and two general medical units, including AIDS, Alzheimer, cardiac and cystic fibrosis. Facilitation of two groups on the psyche and medical units, and one group for staff.

Owned and operated a food trading and brokerage company which conducted business throughout the United States, as well as on an international level. Active sales accounts included Quaker Oats Co., H.J. Heinz, American Home Foods, Campbell Soup Co., Bush Beans and numerous independent accounts. Supervised office staff and was responsible for fiscal management and strategic short and long-term planning.
Group Experience:
Hubert Humphrey Cancer Center, Minneapolis Minnesota;
Facilitated caregiver group for family and friends whose lives have been altered as a caregiver.
If patient expired, participants in group advanced to bereavement group.
Instituted meditation practice for out-patients receiving chemotherapy. The results of this group afforded participants less negative side effects, and more rapid recovery time.

Facilitated group for staff to vent and/or embrace a positive coping mechanism for high stress and loss of patients in units.

Instituted and facilitated bereavement groups for children.
Groups are divided in three groups; 12 years and under; 12 to 18 years; adults.
All groups are separated and sharing is confidential. The adolescent group has been recognized by the local school board in assisting with young people coping with their loss without grades slipping, and less incidents of negative habits occurring.
