Researched the efficacy of noninvasive imaging tools such as MRI-PDFF in assessing NASH (non-alcoholic steatohepatitis) resolution. Performed a meta-analysis that showed that 30% relative decline in MRI-PDFF is associated with higher odds of histologic response and NASH resolution on liver biopsy. These results supported the use of MRI-PDFF as monitoring for treatment response in early phase NASH clinical trials.

UCSF Summer Research Program (MSTAR) 6/2016-08/2016

Mentor/PI: Alison J. Huang, MD

Studied the prevalence and factors associated with urinary incontinence during sexual activity in middle-aged and older women. The study found that up to a quarter of women with UI experience urine leakage during sexual activity and that depression, pelvic organ prolapse, and stress-mixed type UI is associated with urine leakage during sexual activity.
